A bush chain is quite like the roller chain. However, it does not have friction – reducing rollers and is usually thus suitable rather for lower driving speeds. The permitted standard motion 
speeds of the slow-running bush chains range between 0.3 m/sec to 1 1.2 m/sec, with no more than 3.0 m/sec. Bush chains are most frequently used in applications requiring Taper Pulleys continuous operation under coarse working circumstances as well as operation in warm and humid environment where the use of belt drives would be inappropriate.
